Biogas desulphurization

At a green energy plant in China, the residuals from sugar production are anaerobically digested, producing up to 8,000 m3/h of biogas. This gas stream contains, besides a large amount of CO2, high concentrations of H2S up to > 35,000 ppm. For the removal of H2S, a two-stage scrubber system in two identical streets is installed consisting of a GaLiCos, followed by a caustic scrubber for polishing.

Each GaLiCos is designed to remove the bulk of H2S out of 4,000 m3/h, without using caustic or other chemicals. Effluent, from the aerobic post treatment after the digesters, is used a scrubber liquid.
